OBITUARY
MRS FLQRA RALSTON PAVITT The death of Mr. Gavin Ralston Wyllie at Qpotiki, chronicled recently in these columns, was followed yesterdy by the demise of Mrs Flora Ralston Payi'tt, a sister #f (lie lute Mr. Wyllie, and relict of Mr. E. 11. Pavitt, The deceased lady was well-known in Gisborne, having spout practically all her life in the district. She was a daughter of Mr and Mrs .las. Wyllie, and was born in Cisborno 70 years ago, being a young girl at the time of the massacre in 18(i8, in tho course of which her faintly had a narrow escape from extinction at the hands of To Ko.oti's followers. The late Mrs pavitt's husband was an officer of the Bnn.k of Australasia, and for many years was manager at Gisborne. Two daughter*, Mesdnmes R. (L Crawford, of Gisborne, and G. Holmes, of Auckland, a sister, Mjrs E. G. Stevens, of Waiohika, and three brothers, Messrs. Alex., Nigel, and Williarn. Wyllu,', comprise her surviving relatives, to whom deep sympathy will be extended by many friends.
