Tho Riecarton Borough Council has carried out successful experiments in the heating' of tar by electricity. A 400-gnllon tank mounted on a dray has been used. A wanton act was perpetrated on :i car owned by an Oamaru resident while the car was parked for a time at Tnknrn Park. When the owner returned he discovered that his windshield was shattered, apparently by tw o pea riflo bullets.
