BLENHEIM DROWNING
POPULAR SCHOOLMASTER (Ppr Proso Association.) BLTENHEIM, this day. William C'oltoimoic i'urdv, science muster .at Marlborough College', was drowned yesterday afternoon at While's Hay. I'tii'dy and a parly were swimming in Ihe surf when some of them got. into difficulties in a, strong undertow. Purdy, Mr. C. 11. Miller, Miss Landon, and a lad. were swept out in the .breakers. The two latter got ashore after n groat struggle, but Purdy was observed to be floating. After floating for half an hour, Purely was washed ashore. Artificial respiration was resorted to without, success for two hours. Purely was a popular master, and the tragedy has oast, quite a gloom over the community.
