MEMORABLE FAREWELL
GOVERNOR-GENERAL SAILS (For Pr«RS Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The manner in which Sir Charles and Laxly Alice Fergusson haye won their way into tlie hearts of the people was plainly evidenced on »Saturady afternoon in the huge crowds which lined the Wellington waterfront to witness the departure of the Rangitata, which left her berth at 4 o'clock. The whole waterfront was gay with bunting' and, as it was a brilliant summer's afternoon, with a light wind, the water glittered under the x\m in a clear blue sky. The Rangitata was surrounded by small craft of all kinds, the white wings of the yachts spread all over the harbor, and 'aircraft circled round and. round overhead. The scene presented was one that will live long in the memory of the departing Governor-General and his lady.
