IGNORANCE OF AUSTRALIA INQUIRIES IN LONDON . LONDON, .Tan. 25, Two volumes of the Australian Encyclopaedia were stolen recently: from Australia House, and the officers are experiencing the greatest, difficulty in answering the flood of questions which pours in daily. They range from such subjects as, "In what part of Australia is Irak?" to "Is. Victoria a suburb of Sydney?" There has been- an inexplicable increase in the number of old ladies interested iir aborigines, villi) wander in and who are mostly desirous of sending trousers and knitted socks to them. An amazing number of persons believe that Australia includes New Zealand-and rho Fiji Islands. There is never a falling oil' in the number of queries from persons in Australia requesting the department to ascertain if there is any money awaiting them in Chancery.
