PROSPECTING FOR OIL
PAPUAN OPERATIONS TO STOP . (Received February 5, 11 a.m.) CANBERRA, Feb. 5. \ The Federal Government has decided to discontinue prospecting for oil in Papua owing to financial difficulties. The search conducted by the Anglo--Persian Co. for the Commonwealth has cost about £500,000 to date.
