ALTITUDE RECORD FOR N.Z.
, 19, 000 FT. REACHED LADY PILOT'S FLIGHT (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, this day. What is believed to be an altitude record for New Zealand was achieved yesterday afternoon by Miss P. Bennett, ono of the Marlborough Aero Club's pilots. In a climb of over two hours she reached 19,000f.t. Mr. A. E. Clouston, who went up in another Moth at the same time, could not get beyond 13,500 ft., though he had previously been up to HS.OOtlft. Miss Bennett is very light and her machine was in special trim, factors which would assist her in breaking through the "ceiling."
