ICE PACK
NOT GOING OUT BAD WEATHER AT EYRD CAMP (Copyright 1029 by the New York Times Co., unci tint St. Louis Post-Dispatch, All rights lor publication reserved throughout the world.) (By Wireless to the New York Times.) (By Russell Owen.) (Received Feb. .'i, 10 a.m.) BAY OF WHALES, Feb. 1. The weather is gloomy, with a cold wind from the south, hinting of winter. Yesterday we had the heaviest snowfall for a'long time, There are no more indications of Iho ice going than there were a month ago. We cannot help comparing the conditions with the years that Amundsen en mo. His ship, passed through the ice pack in live days. The ice went cut the first'year on January ]?> and the second time between January 19 and 30. Heavy, ice may come in cycles. Perhaps we are in the middle of a bad, pack.
