THE SITUATION EASIER
THE NIGERIAN UNREST WORK OF PACIFICATION (British Official Wireloss.jp Rec. 2 p.m. RUGBY, Dec. 30. The latest information received by the Colonial Office from the Governor of where disturbances have recently occurred, is to the effect that the general situation is now satisfactory. In Calabar province the situation is steadity improving, and the work of pacification is proceeding. There is still somo unrest at Aro and Umon on the left bank of Cross river, but all roads in the province are safe, and the province is quiet. Reports from Owerri say that North Owerri and South Okigwi are rostless. Somo looting in the Owerri division is being dealt with. N'guru has been occupied without opposition. Elsewhere is quiet. Armed guards have been removed from Aba and normal police work resumed. Troops have been moved frorii Port Harcourt, as all is quiet there, and concentrated at Ahoada to cheek the southern movement.
