DRASTIC PROPOSALS
AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING NO IMPORTED VESSELS .;:'. (Received December 31, 12 noon.) SYDNEY, Dec. 31. Drastic changes in the shipping policy of the Federal Government are forecasted. A proposal will be submitted to - a caucus that legislation be passed that all vessels engaged in the Australian trade should be built in Australia, the object being to give an impetus to the ship-building industry, which is passing through a period of acute depression. Unemployed will also be absorbed. Another suggestion is the establishment of a line of three vessels for the Tasmanian trade. The caucus will also bo askod to establish a passenger aerial service with Tasmania.
