RACE ACROSS BASS STRAIT (Received December 31, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec 31. The yacht Wanderer reached Port I'inllip at noon to-day. The Phyllis arrived at Low Head, Tasmania, yesterday The Wanderer reached Port Phdiip with her canvas reduced to tatters. The yacht was at sea for 80 hours. The skipper, Watiis, intends making another attempt next week. . The Phyllis, which also received a terrible battering, will attempt the return trig in a week. The Wanderer and Phyllis were two yachts which were posted as missing following a race across Bass Strait, during which a gale sprang up.
