TO-NIGHT'S FEATURES IYA: The orchestral octet will give a bright programme until 10 p.m. Dance music will follow until 11.45 p.m., after which there will be a description of the scene in the street hear: the Ferry Building. Listeners 'will hear the ringing of the midnight chimes and the singing of !'Auld Lahg Syne." 2YA : A special programme has been arranged, the contributing artists including Mrs. Violet Lochore, soprano; Mr. Lad Haywood, mandolinist; Mr. I Peter Connell, baritone; Miss Evelyn I Robinson, contralto; Mr. Harry Phipps, tenor, and Mr. Billy Hart, who will be heard in popular songs at the piano. From 10 p.m. till 11.45 p.m. there will be a, relay of dance music played by the Bailey-Marston dance orchestra. At 11.45 p.m. there will bo a relay from Cathedral Square, and the Cathedral bell will ring out the old year and ring in the new. 4YA: The Scottish element will bo very strong in the programme. The Dunedin Highland Pipe Band will play selections, and at midnight will play the old year out and the new year in. Yafces, 'elocutionist, and Miss Veronica McKenzie, soprano, are on the programme. Mr. W. Alloo will sing. There will be a relay from the Empire Theatre, Mr. Leslie Harvey playing on the organ. Further instrumental music will bo provided by the Select Trio, and Mrs. 15. Drake, pianist. 2FC will broadcast the musical comedy "Rio Rita." It will be relayed to 3LO Melbourne.
