Advice was received to-day by the District Engineer at Gisbome, Mr. 0. G. Thornton, from the Public Works Department's office at Opofiki, to the effect that the Waioeka road is now open for traffic. The damage dono to she road during the recent rains hfes been repaired, and ijhe creeks are at their normal summer level.
