A party of Nelson orchardists will make a r tonr of the North Island early ill the New Year. ' : " '" The'trip will commence on January o, when the party will leave Nelson' for Wellington. Gars will take the orchardists oven the Rimutakas to Grey town, i'he orchards in the Wairarapa will 1» inspected," after, Which the joiirhey will be cbntihued' to Pahnevifke: 'Hiistihgs will ! MW next place of call, ahd fWo days will be spent in this Hawke's Bay fruit centre. Proceeding to Rotorua, via Tanpo, the party will visit tho Ar&puni dam. 1 psavirig there the party Will go .o Hamilton, and if time permits will 'isit'the Government farm at Ruakura. A night at Hamilton, then the party will proceed oh to Waitomb Caves', and to Te KuitJ, through'the JJing Country} on to the West Coast to Awakino; and dowri ihe coast to NeW Plymouth. Leavihg New Plymouth the party will traverse the road around Mount Egmoht, through Manaia, Stratford, Hawera, and many «mall- towns, till "Wanganui is reached, 1 where a stop will be made. From* to"-Wellington'''will be via |)o!rt6fi; ' -" It is intended to make the tour one of educational value, as well ds' onls whicji incorporates sight-seeing. To some Nelson orchardists fireblight is only a name; if they undertake this tour they wUI 'be able to see for themselves' what fireblight in* an orchard really means.
