WEEK-END FIRES
THREE AT WELLINGTON (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Three week-end fires destroyed a 10-roomed house at Karori, unoccupied, owned by Mr. S. G. Cole, and did considerable damage to a building used as a store by Messrs. Bethune and Hunter in the centre of the city, and to a dwelling house in Jessie street occupied by Mr. R. S. Good. BAKERY DESTROYED (Per Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, this day. - At 1 o'clock on Sunday morning, during a fierce westerly gale, a bakery and three rooms attached, at Terehimga, owned by Messrs. Corkery Brothers, were totally destroyed by fire. The insurances are not available.
