RIFLE SHOOTING
ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS (Per Press Association.) VVANGANUI, last night, Tho North .Island championship rifle shooting meeting concluded! on the Putiki range at Wanganui on Saturday. A high north-east wind made shooting difficult, but some exceptionally good scores were returned. Captain A. Neilson, of Napier, retained the championship belt with 327 points. Rifleman T. Orr, of Greytown, was second with 320, and Rifleman J. Patterson (Wanganui) third' with 317. In the Manawatu match J. G. Turnbull (New Plymouth) and W. J. Green Okawa) were equal first with 49 points; I). Calder (Akarana) was third. The Hawke's Bay match resulted in a win for F. C.' Hogg (Wanganui); T. Orr (Greytowon) was second, and deputy-president T, Goodall (Suburbs) third. The optional aggregate-ended in a victory for Captain A. Neilson; J. Patterson (Wanganui) was second, and T. Orr (Greytown) third. The North Island s teams match resulted in a victory for the Wanganui team; Petoiio was second, and Opaki third. T- Orr, of Greytown, won the Marybank aggregate.
