"CULTIVATE THRIFT"
AFBICAN SLOGAN WORCESTER, S. Africa, Nov. 12. The National Thrift movement in this country has just attained its tenth birthday. "The fact that" nearly 2,000,000 Union Loan certificates have been sold in the Union shows how successful tho movement has been in popularising thrift. In additions to loan certificates savings clubs have been' opened throughout the country in commercial houses, workshops and' schools. So far as population is concerned, South Africa can claim to have done as well, if not better, than Britain in the matter of sales.' The movement has for its slogan. "Don't drift, cultivate thrift."
