Williams anil Kettle ? s London agents report that the series of London sales terminated, yesterday, the market closing firm with no change from late quotations for medium and fine crossbreds. No low crossbreds of 30 to 40 quality were offering. Messrs. Murray, Roberts arid Co. are in receipt of tho following cable message from London under date 4th inst. n “Sales have closed, tho Continent being the principal buyers. Compared with the present London sales opening rates for crossbred greasy, fine, medium, and coarse, the market is firm; scoured, oscept coarse, declined, 5 to 7/ per cent.; slips lambs—-best, market firm, other descriptions declined 5 to 7/ per cent; slipo, no change. Quotations; 50/64 : s New Zealand merino, yielding 48 per cent., 12id,; 56’s, yielding 60 per cent., 15d; 50’s, yielding 65 per cent., M/d; 44/46’s ,prep., yielding 74 ,per cent., 15$ d; 44/46’s carding, yielding 72 per cent., 15|d; 40/44’„s, yielding 73 per ■cent-., and 36/40’s, yielding 75 per cent., none offering.” Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. have received the following cablegram frpm London, dated December 4: “As compared with last, spies, closing rates, prices arc higher by about 5 per cent for crossbred lambs, greasy merino medium, greasy merino inferior, and greasy crossbred; higher by about par to 5 per cent, for scoured crossbred, coarse crossbred sjipe, and medium crossbred Slipo; higher by about 7/ per cent, to 10 per cent, for greasy merino super, find about the samo for merino lambs. The market is weaker for fine crossbred . siipo arid scoured merino. The sales closed with competition by Home and foreign .buyers fairly active. Tho prices realised for averttgo to super grades of descriptions as below were as follows: Merino, super, 16d to 18/d, .average, 12'icl to 14/d; crossbred, 56/58’s lojd to 18/d; 50/56’s 15/d to 17d, 48/50’s 14d to 15/d, 46/48’s 13/d to 'l4/(1, 44/46’s 131 d to .14d. 40/44’s 13d to 15/d, 56/40’s 15d to 15-jd-”
