Miss Bondfield moved the closure, which was carried by 203 votes to 108 The amendment was defeated by --•* votes to 28. Mr. Baldwin and 50 Conservatives and 20 Liberals did not vote. „ . Miss Jennie. Lee moved to increase the allowance of unemployed workers children from 2s to ss, which would cost £4,500,000 and affect 600,000 childr°Tliis was defeated by 210 votes to 87, many Liberals .and Conservatives and dozens of Labor members abstaining from the division.
