SYDNEY, Nov. 27. The commissioning of the (liner Orontes, which ,is now in Australian; waters, completed one of the most cost-;! ty building programmes yet undertaken by a shipping company engaged 1 in the Australian trade. The Orontes is one of five ships built l for the:Orient S'.N. Co., at a cost of approximately £1,090,000 each. Each vessel represented an improvement on the one .preceding it. The first vessel launched was the Obama, and then followed the Oronsay, Otranto, Orford, and Orontes.
