THIRD EDITION WEDDING
MORICE—WHYTE . .Settlers of the Tlniroto district were present in force yesterday at the schpolliouso to celebrate the wedding of Helen Maude, daughter of Mr. and ■Mrs. W. Whyte, of Tiuiroto, and Henry James, son of Mr. and Mrs. !•'. Morice, of \Vhakapunake. The contracting parties,were both nieinbcrs of well-known families, and personally among the most popular of the young people thereabouts, their marriage arousing tiro keenest interest. The Rev. Mr. Grocott,*of Wairoa, officiated, - and Mrs. A. Richardson presided at the organ. Friends of the bride had brightly decorated the schoolroom, a bridal arch Of supple-jack supporting a dainty wedding bell being a-feature of the decorations. • The bride was given away by her father, and presented a charming picture in a frock of cream georgette studded . with diamante ornaments, worn over an underdress of pale pink georgette. Tho bridal coronet of * orange blossoms .was strikingly designed, looping at- the sides with dainty pearl festoons, and supporting a beautiful veil of palest, pink. Silver shoes and stockings to tone with tho frock wore features of the .toilette. flic , bridesmaids were Miss A. Whyte, sister of tfic bride, and Miss W. Morice, sister of the groom. Miss \\ hyte wore delphinium blue georgette, relieved with gold lace, over silk; and a lace hood lined with blue georgette, shoes . and stockings being in toning shades. Miss Mo rice’s delphinium blue georgette frock was similar in design, the relief being in straw-colored lace, while her hat had a shapely drooping brim with blue trimming toning with tk/Hfrock. Her shoes and stockings * «rc in gold, and her bouquet was iuMtical with* that of the other bridesmaid, of gold roses ami blue love-in-the-mist, gathered together with gold Streamers. Sir. D. Morice and Mr. F. Whyte, brothers of the Ibridcgroom and bride respectively, fulfilled the duties of best man and groomsman. After the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, the spacious verandah being delicately decorated with asparagus fern, colored streamers, and native greenery, while above the bride and groom at the banquet hung another wedding-bell. The display of gifts was extensive, and included several cheques. Later Mr. and Mrs. Morice'departed on a South Island tour, Mrs. Morice wearing an attractive tailored costnmt in blue and grey, over which was worn a smart coat, the 'hat- being of blue Bangkok straw. At the reception Mrs. Whyte, jnother of the bride, received the guests in a charming gown of navysatin, with* toufclies of fawn, her hat being modishly designed to .tone with the gown, arid her bouquet being of deep red roses and bright carnations. Mrs. Morice, mother of the bridegroom, wore a model frock of floral ninon, with a black hat and a bouquet of . warmly colored roses. An aunt of the bride, Mrs. Richardson, was in grey crepe de chine, trimmed with bine and worn with a saxe blue £at, while Mrs. St. Leger, sister of tho bridegroom, wore grey and pink checked triple ninon silk, and a black hat. A mdtlel frock of floral chiffon was chosen by Miss Morice, a sister of the bridegroom.
