SLUM CONDITIONS
MANCHESTER REVELATIONS LONDON, Dec. -3. There were remarkable disclosures of the conditions in the poor quarters of Manchester at an inquiry into the death of a four-months-old girl. The evidence revealed that the father, with six children, two hoys aged H> and five years, three girls, 10, eight and six years, together with the baby, slept in'one lied. The lia'hy was smothered by the bedclothes.
