TRIBUTE TO PREMIER
AFFECTIONATE REGARD i ■ (Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. A nice compliment was paid to the Prime Minister last night by Capt. H. . M. Rush worth, Country Party member for the Bay of Islands, when opening jus speech on ,the Land and Income lax Amendment Bill. ‘‘We who live close to affairs in Parliament are prone to taxe oo much for granted,” he said, ‘but 1 would like trt congratulate the Prime Minister on h.s recovery from his recent illness. We do appreciate the Prime Minister’s patience and courtesy, and the (hgnity with which he discharges his responsible duties. I feel sure that all members will agree that we have a sincere respect for him, a respect, I may say, that is tinged with affection. Of course I mean that it is possible to differ with him on the requirements of the political situation. It is inevitable that we should sometimes differ.
