The hill on the west side has been almost cut away and the spoil used in filling in the unsightly corner at the south-east end of the oval. Tlie ova,l itself is assuming definite shape, and will have a 20ft. track round it. banked to 12ft. high at til© ends and sft. at the side. The length down the centre of tlie ground will be l4&yds., arid a fgll-sized football ground can be marked out within the oval. The present work on tho ground when complete will cost about £2OOO, but to put down the bitumen track, accommodation for sports and athletic bodies, seating for about 16,000 people, and turnstiles, will require another £BOOO.
