DENTAL TREATMENT
LEVIN CLINIC OPENED fPer Press Association.l LEVIN, this day. The State dental clinic, in Levin Was officially opened yesterday by the Minister of Health, Hie Hon. A. J. Stullworthy, who, in the epurse of his remarks, said there were SO clinics operating, with 55 sub-oases, 670 schools, and 53,500 children being under treatment. Seventeen new clinics had been established this year. The work accomplished last year included 146,354 fillings, 76,555 extractions, and 99,701 other operations. Mention was made by other speakers of the fact that Levin pioneered the way in the "Dominion by establishing the school dental system in 1919, two years Before the State clinics were operating. This was the scheme devised by Air. 1). S. MncKenzie, a local dentist, under which ho and other practitioners attended to ohiilren for a nominal fee of £1 per annum. This service is still operating in the district.
