Having landed at llobart, he missed his ship and found work in Tasmania, subsequently visiting most pans of Australia and .New Zealand, except Wellington. lie recently went to Southampton in the Oorinthic, aboard whi.h he mc a missionary, the Bev. A. Benton, who persuaded Mr. Woodcock to accompany him as engineer on a voyage to the upper reaches of the Amazon in a. 70ft. motor launch.
