SEDDONVILLE'S DANGER
MORE BLOCKS IN RIVER (P*r Preer Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. Replying to Mr. H. E. Holland, in the House of Representatives yesterday, the Hon. E. A. Ransom said thai as soon as it was available, ho would be pleased to make known the final report of the engineer on the subject of further 'Hockages in the Mukonui River. Mr. Holland stated that as the result of blockages in this river, following the earthquake, the town of Seddonville had been inundated, and there was some alarm in consequence of these later blockages. He thought the report of the engineer would do much to dispel the fears of the people. Mr. Ransom informed Mr. J. O'Brien that he was arranging for an inspection of the effects of the erosion in the Hokitika Gorge, with a view to ascertaining whether there was any danger to the settlement of Koteranui.
