MENINGITIS EPIDEMIC

JAPANESE VICTIMS HONOLULU, March 18. _ Three deaths occurred amongst 23 cases of meningitis aboard the steamer President Pierce, whose 4000 steerage passengers from Manila were quarantined. An epidemic ol outbreaks has also occurred on Oriental steamers at Seattle and other Pacific ports. All the victims are Japanese, and the source of the epidemic is probably Kobe.
