A railway accident occurred at fmtali involving the death of %n online driver and n fireman, and injury t© the second Jiwman. A goods train with a van attached left Vintali station driven by Harry do Beer, with two firemen, W. J. Wndsworth and O. Gariett, and a guard and woman passenger, Mrs. Bolus, a ganger's wife, in the van. The engine reached a bank about three miles from the station, at which, point a large drain pipe passes under the track. The force ©t ttoe water doting the reeeni .storms had undermined the bank, and the track gave way under the weight of the engine, whieh tore a gap in the permanent way about 30ft across and Mr deep. The engine plunged into the hole and overturned, pinning the driving crew underneath.
