OBITUARY

MR. ALEXANDER THOMSON

(Per Press Association.) NELSON, this day.

The death has occurred of Mr. Alexander Thomson, of Nelson, one of the pioneer settlers of Murchison. He took a prominent part in the public life of the district.

MR. WALTER BESWICK Private advice was received to-day of the death of Mr. Walter Heswick, second son of Mr, W. W. Beswiek, of Oanraru, formerly postmaster at Gisborne. r llie late Mr. Beswiek was educated at the Gisborne school and for some years followed the occupation of photographer at Dunedin. Latterly be joined the firm of Messrs. Wise and Co., Dunedin, publishers of Wise’s Directory.
