CHRISTCHURCH CHAMPIONSHIPS (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The sensation of Saturday's amateur athletic championships was the defeat of the New Zealand amateur cycling champion, F. Grose, in all three events, the results being:— Half-mile.—T. O'Brien 1, A. Mackie 2, A. Day 3. Time, 70 2-ssec. Three miles.—Mackie 1, W. Lamberton 2, O'Brien 3. Time, 6.45 3-5. One-mile. —Lamberton 1, Grose 2, O'Brien 3. Time, 2.13. Other athletic events resulted : 100yds.—J. H. Murphy 1, R. Cordery 2, A. Clark 3. Time, 10 l-ssec. One-mile.—E. B. Taylor 1, M. McDonald 2, G.
