When the Dominion dispute in the engineering industry, affecting the skilled branches, iron and brass moulders, general engineers and boilermakers came before the Conciliation Council in Christclnm'h yesterday a deadlock occurred on the very first clause of the proposals, hours of work. The employers asked for 47 hours weekly, and the union for 41). The union suggested a compromise on tell terms of the old award of 44 hours.
