MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
At the monthly meeting of the executive of the Gisborne branch of the St. John Ambulance Association last evening the following members were present: Alesdames W. Lissant Clayton, B. A. Berridge, Al. A. Oxenham, E. Silverwood, Messrs. C. E. Bickford, W. E. B. Froggattj T. Bury, T. G. jJohns, A. Freebairn, H. J. Clayton, R. W. Cumming, C. Tattersfield, and W. J. Morris. Owing to the absence of the chairman, Mr. A. Thomson, Air. C. E. Bickford presided. The donation of £4OO was received from Air. John Clark towards the ambulance fund.—The secretary was instructed to write thanking Air. Clark for the handsome donation. Further donations of £l4 to the ambu.lance fund, and £5 to the nursing division, were received from the Poverty Bay Arts and Crafts Club/ while the Gfcbbrne Five Brigade forwarded £1 Is. The secretary reported that letters of thanks had been sent to the following donors: Poverty Bay Arts and Crafts Club., Gisborne Fire Brigade, Airs. B. A. Berridge, Aliss Williamson, Air. W. B Bennett, i and the Ormond Sports Club. In connection with the purchase of the new motor ambulance, a special meeting of the ambulance committee was held on January 18. The secretary reported that as soon as a suitable chassis was in view the question of purchase would be submitted to the general executive to make final arrangements. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £7 11.
