A HUGE PROJECT
NEW CALCUTTA DOCK

The Viceroy opened the now King; George Dock at Calcutta, providing at present six additional berths, and ultimately 30 additional berths. The cost of the scheme rip to the present is eight and a-half crores of rupees. The water area of the dock is 24 per cent, greater than Gladstone Dock. Liverpool. The construction of the first quarter of the full scheme has involved the displacement of 200,000,000 cubic feet, of earth.
