SYDNEY, Dec. 18,
Australasian Oilfields Ltd., which was registered to-day, with nominal capital of £1,000,000 in 750 shares of £1 each' and 1,000,000 of 5s each, has secured permits to explore for oil, etc., approximately 300,000 acres of land at Roma,' Longrcach, Julia Creek, and other parts oi Queensland. The areas have been selected in accordance with expert advice. The company has also interests in New Zealand. The first board of directors consists of Messrs. E. A. Goldsmid (chairman), T. L. Jones (of Froggitt, Jones, Brisoane), F. L. .Dawson (Brisbane), K. M. Burgratf (of Elbof Subterranean Surveys), and J. McGeachie. It is intended to enlist the co-operation of English investors in the project, and, with that object, representatives of the company are to leave for England on Saturday next.
