TAREWA FATALITY
SHOCKING ACCIDENT TWO KILLED: THREE INJURED Two people wore killed and three injured in an accident on the main south road this morning, near Tarewa, according to advice received shortly befor« noon to day Details of the accident were lacking, when the first advice was received, hut the ambulance was dispatched from Gis borne with medical and police officers aboard for the scene of the fatality. The last fatal accident on the main south road was that in which a service car toppled over the Waikari gorge, and as a result three persons, husband and wife and child, met their death Later. • Further information concerning this morning's fatal accident near Tarewa. indicates that a party of Maoris were travelling from the direction of Gisbornn towards Morere, and that in negotiating a sharp bend at high speed, their car overturned and rolled over and over on the"bitumen surface. The <ar did not leave the road, but rolled sidowise along the surface, two of the party being killed and three seriously injured. -No indication of the party's'identity was available. The party of*Maoris concerned in the accident are believed tn bolon- *n tarie, the names of those killed being Taha Whera and Wiki. The driver o the car is reported to be unhurt:
