STUD SHEEP FAIRS Stud sheep-breeders are to have an additional opportunity this year to secure high-class stud rams of the Romney and Southdown breeds, as Manawatu and East Coast breeders have banded together to establish an annual sale at Feilding. A splendid entry has been received for the first sale to be held on January 15 and 16, and an .additional' attraction wLlb be the fact "that the annual Pardrarigi s'ale has been cancelled., and the rams from this old-established stud are included in the sale. South Island sheep will also be offered. ' At Solway showgrounds, near Masterton, on. January i 7, the annual breeders' sale of shut and flock rams will be held. This sale has been the Mecca of both Dominion and overseas buyers for years past, and the usual high-class entry of both stud and flock Romney, Lincoln and Southdowns will come forward. At the same place, the fourth annual ewe show* and sale will be held on January 18. Well-known breeders will again judge the entries of Romney, Southdown and Lincoln ewes prior to the sale, and the Wright Stephenson Cup will be awarded by the combined judges to the grand champion pen of the show. A big attraction at the fixture will be the dispersal sale of the well-known McGregor Southdown stud flock of ewes and rams. This is a high-class flock and offers breeders a rather unique chance to secure high-class registered sheep of this popular breed.
