Road Lights for Elephants
Elephants travelling on the public roads shall be . compelled to carry front and rear lights. This is a novel proposal which has been J«id before the Kandy (Ceylon) Municipal Council on the grounds that, elephants cannot always be depended upon to obey their drivers, and that the animals on the road are a greater danger at night than a motor car. The elephants on the public road loading from Colombo to Kandy constitute one of the sights most enjoyed IVv tourists.
