DEEP SEA FISHING
ZANE GREY’S PLANS (Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. Arrangements have been completed for the reception of the American novelist and deep sea angler, Zane Grey, at Thames on Tuesday prior to his departure for Mercury Bay, where lie will establish a permanent camp, from which he will explore the deep sea fishing. Mr. Grey and his companion, Captain Mitchell, of Nova Scotia, are due to arrive on the Makura at Wellington on Monday. It is hoped to pitch camp on Mercury Island. The island is about two hours’ launch journey from Mercury Bay and is ideally situated as a base for deep sea sport. Three highpowered launches, the Alma G, Zane Grey, and Avalon, arrived at the bay yesterday. Mr. Grev’s party includes Captain and Mrs; Mitchell, Miss K. Smith, secretary, Mr. Tom Middleton, cinematographer, and six launchmen.
