DEMAND FOR SHEARERS
SHORTAGE IN N. CANTERBURY (Special to the Herald.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. , Up till recently there w r as a pronounced shortage of shearers in North Canterbury and labor agencies found it difficult to meet the demand for this class of labor. The operations on the lower country in the North Island have been practically finished, however, and this has released d number of shearers, who have made their way South. The Australian shearers also have arrived and are helping to fill the requirements.
