TOKOMARU ASSOCIATION A meeting of the executive committee of the. Tokoniaru Boxing Association was held on Tuesday,evening, there being present Messrs M. Were, Pufle'tt, J. Porter, Moore, F. Thompson, J. J. Roberts and Yeoman,.secretary. On the motion of Mr. J. Porter-; seconded by Mr. Thompson, Mr; Were was elected chairman. A letter was received from Mr. A. B. Willianls accepting the postilion of patron. Oh the motion of Mr. Were it was resolved to record sympathy witli the Royal Family ami hopes for the speedy recovery of the King. A letter was received from Tolaga Bay sta'tiii.g that a boxiiig association had been formed there, and asking for certain information, The secretary war, instructed to .cp'pvoy the-best wishes qf this association lo the . newlyformed association, and stating that Tokoniaru Bay would be pleased .to render any assistance to the .sister body. It was decided to hold a tournament on January 19, and to arrange for a professional bout between two good men for a substantial purse. Messrs J. H. Porter and Ivan Low*! were re-appointed n matching eouunitkittee to make arrangements for the amateur bouts.
