M’ATAWHERO STOCK SALE A feature of the, Alatawhero stock sale to-day was the increased demand for store sheep. .In this section 1003 sheep were offered, and a brisk sale resulted, there being an average attendance of the public. Well-grown, woolly hoggets made, £1 9s, and shorn two-tooth hoggets realised £l 3s 2d for a pen of 187. Other hoggets iriade £1 Is Id., Ewes with lambs drought- £2: Is, while forward, shorn elves made up to Ids. Store sheep.—6o shorn ewes, 18s; 14 ewes with 17 lambs, in good condition, £2 Is: 6 shorn ewes, all fat, and 6 young lambs, £l. 8s 7’cl*: 10 ewes arid 12 lambs. £l 17s 3d; 8 ewes, forward and shorn, 15s 8d; .18 shorn ewes, 15> 9cl ; 14 do., 15s 6d. Hoggets : 150 well-grown, m good order, £1 9s; 181, shorn, all. ewe hoggets, £1 Is I’d; 187, well-grown, snorn and in good order, £1 3s 2d; 105 shorn ewe hoggets (p), £JL 2s 2d; 67 do., £1 Is 7d; 80 woolly hoggets, £1 6s 2d; 92 shorn, £1 2s. Fat sheep.—An entry of 218 fat sheep was offered prior to the luncheon adjournment. Prices were similar to those ruling lately. Woolly ewes brought- from £1 7s lid down to LI 4s lOd. Good, sound' shorn ewes made 'His 6d, while second-grade ewes brought £1 2s Id to £1 4s 3d. Becoiut-grario shorn ewes made 15s 10d to 16s lid. Other prices were : 58 shot'll ewes, 18s 6(1; 19 ewes, wool Iv, £1 7.s lid; 12 do., £1 7s 3d; 1.7 (]o., £1 4.s 10d ; 1 ewe, El ss; 5 shorn ewes, 17s; 1 shorn wether, £1 4s 6il; 7 mixed two-tuotlis, shorn, £1 ■ 2s; 16 woolly ewes, £1 6s ; 34 . shorn ewes, 18s 6<l; 1 wether, shorn, £l. 5s 3d. Second-grade: 7 woolly ewes, £l. 2s Id; 2 do.. £1 4s 3d; 9 shorn ewes, 16s lOd : 9 do., 16s lid. Fat cattle.—Only eight fat cattle came forward, riiost of them being of dairy strains. Two good cows, one Shorthorn and one Jersey cross, went to £B. Heifers made £6 17s 6<l. Prices : 2 Jersey heifers, £5 12s 6d; 1 Jersey steer. £5 ss; 1 do. (p), £4 10s; 2- cows, Shorn horn arid jersey, £8; 1 heifer, £6 17s 6d: 1 heifer, good' size, £6 16s.

STORTFOBD LODGE SALE

A good yarding uf fat cattle, with a small yarding of store cattle and sheep, came forward lor the ,I tort fold Lodge (Hawke’s Bay) sale, on Wednesday, (attic prices were on a par with las! week, but, fat sheep were slightly easier. The. following is a range of prices : Fat bullocks £ll to £l6 ios; fat cows £i 10s to £ll 15s; store cows £6 Uf £6 10s ; two-year heifers £5 18s: two-vear steers 16 10s; three-vear steers £l9 is; yearling steers £6 12s 6<l: fat ewes (shorni 22s to 24d : woolly 27s to ,33s 6d; woolly hoggets 29s 6d t.o-33s 6d; two too! It ewes 235: ewe lambs 44s 6d 1,0 49s 9d : won 11 v store ewes 21s 6d to 2.2 s 6,1.
