Broad' Law lies directlv in a straight line between Newcastle and Renfrew, which was the route of the, last lap of Friday's stage of the air race. The airman was dead right in his reckoning when disaster overtook him. lie was passing over mountainous country that offered little chance, of a safe landing. It is possible that he had been searching for ground to make a forced landing, but had been compelled to continue until his machine was forced down.
