ROADS IMPASSABLE (Social to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. Torrential rain has fallen in the city since .Saturday, and low areas in the suburbs have been inundated. No extensive damage has been reported. Reports from the country indicate that the position there is more serious. Jn the Mangawhiri Valley the Pokeno-Pae-roa main highway i.s under water for a considerable length. The read is impassable for motor traffic and servicecar passengers have to transfer, being taken over the flood waters in a carl. In many other localities in this district traffic is blocked. The Waikato and Waiapa rivers are running high. The bridge over the Okete stream, near Camp Ferguson, on the Hami.iton-Okete road, has been washed over the falls. .Motorists can get through to Raglan by the Kauroa bridge, but the water is level with the decking and the foundations are. threatened. Road communication between Tc Aioha and Paeroa is again blocked, and heavy floods are anticipated. Sixty hours of heavy rain has flooded ali the rivers and streams in the neighborhood of Thames. Slips are reported in several localities.
