STRENGTHENING REQUIRED MISSIONS TO DOMINIONS (British Official Wireless.) Ren. noon. RUGBY - , July -'•• In the House of Commons, the Dominions Secretary, Mr, L. S. Amory, was questioned regarding a statement by the Prime Minister of Ontario upon the way in which American influence and methods were permeating Canadian life, and whether His Majesty's Government would co-oper-ate in n proposal for an Empire conference of men of affairs to review means of strengthening Anglo-Cana-dian relations. Mr. Amory said he had seen press reports of the speech by the Prime Minister of Ontario. As to the proposed Empire conference, this was a conference of business interests, and was hardly one in which the British Government, could take the initiative, but it would always hope to cooperate with any oilier Governments in the Empire in schemes for the development of trade. Questioned regarding the Trade Mission to Australia. Mr. Amory said liis Majesty's Government would bo glad to give sympathetic consideration to an invitation by any other :Dominion Government for the despatch of a similar mission.
