LOST IN BUSH

VISITOR TO TE AROHA A visitor to Te Aroha, Mr. T. Wright, had an unpleasant experience when he was lost in the dense bush oil Mount Te Aroha. He had been for a walk from the Domain up the mountain when darkness overtook him. The mountain tracks are very treacherous at night at this time of the year, owing to slips and deep ravines. Finding him-': self hopelessly bushed he started calling for help. After a considerable period his cries echoing down from the heights over the township attracted the attention of the superintendent of the. Domain, and a constable and a search party made a hurried ascent to rescue ■Mr.'Wright, who, except for a bad fnight, was none the worse for his chilly adventure in unknown parts. It was lucky that he reached a level where his voice carried to the township, or the consequences would have been more serious, as the bush is exceptionally dense where Mr. Wright was lost. j
