Figures from America show the amazing growth of the radio jndu-try over there. The last census indicates a fivefold increase since the last census, two years ago, in the manufacture of sets." Crystal sets have fallen off, this great expansion being principally in valve sets. These grew from a little over 190,000 to over two millions, representing £17,7(50,000 in factory cost. The most important effect of this treImendous output was to reduce the cost of the average receiver by about 40 per cent. Valves, too, showed a tremendous iuerejlse in output.
