Harris has resumed work, and walks 10 miles a day. The surgeon made a cardboard model, and the hospital carpenter cut the bone to pattern. Then the surgeon, inserted it in the spine. Gradually Harris was able to move about. Other similar operations have since been performed in less serious cases.
