Members of the Napier Harbor Board were disappointed on opening tho tenders for the first portion of work necessary in connection with the reclamation of the Awatoto block. The first contract was for the pump station building, and for that only two tenders were received. For the contract to erect levees and fences, however, only one tender came to hand. The re-advertising for tenders for the latter work was mentioned by members, but finally it was decided to reror all three to a special committee to consider.
