EXPLORER'S ALL-MEAT DIET
NEW YORK, March 15. It was revealed here to-day that Vilhialmur Stefansson, tho Arctic explorer, is engaged in a test of an allmeat diet for a year to prove his theory that a lack of vegetables does not cause scurvy. , „ Stefansson. who is at the Bellevue Hospital, New York, is leading a normal life except in the matter of diet, ihe test is being conducted by Mr. Russell Sage, of the Institute of Pathology. The explorer states that if a Ires imeat diet proves to bo scientifically sound the knowledge will he of great help in Arctic exploration, since the carriage of vegetable food to snowbound lands is a difficult problem and fresh (meat is 'usually plentiful.
